Lydia Cheeley is the owner and licensed massage therapist of Sacred Beginnings Massage, LLC. She first fell in love with bodywork when she was living in Hawaii studying marine biology and took a Lomi Lomi introductory massage course on a whim. In 2012 she moved back to the mainland, took a break from her fisheries career, and enrolled in the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC.

As an experienced therapist, she weaves a blend of modalities with a therapeutic touch that incorporates Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, Lomi Lomi, sports massage, myofascial release, hot stone, Reiki, and aromatherapy. She has taken numerous additional CE courses and hours in prenatal and perinatal massage and Mayan Arvigo® Therapy. She specializes in working with women’s transforming bodies and can address specific conditions concerning reproductive and digestive health, as well as preparation and healing from birth.

Lydia is also a devoted mother and has experienced, firsthand, the challenges and joys of pregnancy and motherhood. She had her second child in 2021 at her home in Sedona with midwife Fabiola Merchant. After the incredible birth experience she had working with Fabiola, she knew her calling would be to come back and work with her, and provide accessible care, support, and bodywork for the women in the community! Lydia passionately believes in the innate wisdom of women’s bodies and is dedicated to this sacred work and passing on the traditional healing modalities to others so it not be forgotten!

In her freetime she’s also an outdoor enthusiast and out hiking, mountain biking, and playing in the red rocks with the kiddos and fur baby! Whether it’s through bodywork, Arvigo® therapy, or yoni steaming, we have many avenues to support you, your wellness, and your growing family at Sacred Beginnings Massage. We will meet you, wherever you are in your process. Our practice is open to all types of families, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, and ethnicities.
